Supercorp Australia is poised to unveil superMate, its next generation self managed superannuation fund administration software built on the technology of its current flagship product, SuperVisor II.

The new offering extends the existing SuperVisor II engine and is delivered through the web, Supercorp said in a statement. Supercorp has already tested out superMate with half a dozen users, and plans to officially launch the software on 21 October. SuperVisor II was released in 1999, and was an admin solution that allowed automation, real time access to information for clients and advisers, and full support for both accumulation and pension products.

The program took off quickly, and has become the software of choice for over 60,000 SMSFs across Australia, noted the statement. Managing director for boutique self managed superannuation administration and consulting company The Super Group, Scott Marcellos, has been using SuperVisor II for 15 years and is set to upgrade his system to superMate as soon as the software is available.

Trialling SuperMate, he said the software enables users to tailor client communication and reduces the need for staff to have strong knowledge of superannuation and accounting programs to manage the workload.

"Because superMate is a hosted application, where the database is located and maintained offsite, it has enabled us to rethink and save on disaster recovery and back up processes," Mr Marcellos said.

"The software has a great user interface, is superior in fund batch processing and offers the benefits of SuperVisor II together with the capabilities of a CRM program, a specific sales/client contact application."

"The fact that the software builds on the existing IP of SuperVisor II is also something I find beneficial as they haven't had to write a totally new application and I am unlikely to experience bugs in the system," he added.

Supercorp's chief executive Kurt Groeneveld said that superMate provides real-time access to current data - a factor that is critical to ensuring a fund's on-going compliance.

"SuperMate provides clients a high degree of automation, ensuring that valuations and asset allocations remain current and information is easily accessible to an SMSF trustee and their adviser 24 hours a day via secure internet access," he said.
